You have us confused here. According to the data the Racing Green didn't hit the road until February 1990, and according to the brochure http://s114.photobucket.com/albums/n248/charliebird82/LE%20Register%20Brochures/?action=view&current=mini20checkmate20flame20racing2012.jpg it had alloy wheels too.

Are you sure it's a proper LE? It will be described as such on the V5.

In 1989 it was called a Racing with a racing green decal. Then it came out as a racing green in 1990. I too have a 89 racing and had this confusion. Not a lot of people know that.

Ah, understood now. Then they will be the same as those on the Sky/Rose. Which are basically the standard silver ones painted white. Emalee couldn't find any white ones for hers, so she painted a set of silver ones. I think that's your best solution - just need to find some silver ones in good order. I have a set but they're not very good.

hey, as said above i painted my wheel trims for the sky, you can't by them new anymore :(, i did actaully manage to buy a brand new pair at a show in white for £5 a few years back - i couldn't believe it!!!

but when you look for them make sure that the backs have all the plastic clips that hold the metal ring on, and the actual metal ring

Then on the front make sure they are not toooooo badly marked - they will be a bit, but most will flat out with wet and dry primer, then plastic primer and normal primer can be used on them to restore them. try not to put too much paint on them as i'm having a problem with the skys cracking, cos they have quite a bit of paint on, which doesn't flex enough when you take them off!!

I guess that depends on what paint you use. Celly would be a nightmare, but the single pack synthetic I'm using tends to remain quite flexible. Two-pack is much harder.
